House of Ionara ("we", "us") operates houseofionara.com and provides curated private offsites and retreats on the Albanian Riviera. We are registered in Albania and, because we serve clients in the European Union, we process personal data in accordance with Albanian data protection law and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Data we collect
When you submit an inquiry, we collect the information you provide: your name, work email address, company name, group size, preferred dates, budget indication, preferred contact method, and the content of your message. We also collect standard technical data (IP address, browser type, pages visited) through our website platform, Shopify.
Why we process it
We use your data to respond to your inquiry, prepare a tailored proposal, and manage your booking. The legal basis is the performance of pre-contractual and contractual measures (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in operating our business (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We do not send marketing communications without your consent, and we do not sell personal data.
Sharing and international transfers
We share data only where necessary to deliver your retreat: with local venues, transport providers, guides, and hospitality partners in Albania (limited to what they need, such as group size and dietary requirements), and with service providers such as Shopify (website hosting) and our payment processor. As we are based in Albania, outside the EEA, personal data of EU clients is transferred to Albania; we share only the minimum necessary and apply appropriate safeguards to protect it.
Retention
Inquiry data is kept for up to 2 years after our last contact. Booking and invoicing records are kept as long as required by applicable accounting and tax law.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal data, and you may object to or restrict processing. Contact us at inquiry@houseofionara.com. You may lodge a complaint with the Albanian Information and Data Protection Commissioner or, if you are in the EU, with your local data protection authority.
